My name is Patricia Hughes. I live in Monkstown, Co Dublin. Creating my first ever website is exciting and challenging. It has taken me totally out of my comfort zone.
I feel so much joy and gratitude for the gift of painting. From very early childhood through primary, secondary and third level education, sketching and painting were so important to my life on many levels and still are today.
My inspiration comes from everyday experiences and my love of colour, harmony and beauty. I paint what I love, using different mediums. All my paintings are professionally framed with glass.
To date, I have enjoyed very successful solo exhibitions, taken part in many group shows, and I am a member of a group of artists who exhibit on the Verandah in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
Along with other artists, I exhibited my paintings on the railings in Merrion Square for many years. My pictures hang in people's homes in Ireland, England, America, Holland, New Zealand, Japan, France and Scotland. Recently it was my pleasure to contribute some paintings towards Art Aid 2020 to raise funds for India and Africa.
I love painting and dancing in equal measure. As a member of Dance Theatre of Ireland's Vintage Youth Dance Ensemble, I have taken part for the past 3 years in several original dance theatre performances in theatres and for events.
